Chelsea wins with a Terry Goal.

One of the toughest match of the premiership featuring Chelsea and Manchester United, the hosted just managed to win from a lone goal by John Terry from a set piece in the 76th minute. With the result Chelsea go 5 points clear and have a new rival at second place that is their London neighbours Arsenal who thrashedWolverhampton Wanderers 4-1. Gunners are now second with higher positive goal difference and they may even narrow the gap with a game in hand.

The match started in front of electrifying crowd at Stamford bridge with a heavy amount of play in the midfield. Soon in the fifth minute United’s goalkeeper Van der Sar was tested when Ivanovic shot had to be saved. Otherwise the visiting side dominated the possession but could not convert it, the first real chance came in the 29th minute when a brilliant pass by Fletcher found Giggs who shot to high over Chelsea goalkeeper Peter Cech. Chelsea kept on creating half chances but both the teams went into the half with a 0-0 score line.

Second half saw plenty of action and the eventual goal but before that in the 67th minute Reds had their best effort came. A quick free-kick from Anderson allowed Rooney to press menacingly on into the final third. He played a clever one-two with Antonio Valencia and then drilled his shot inches wide. As the situation was getting hotter on the field even little fouls were an ignitions to big fights and by the end of the match three players from both the teams were showed yellow card.
The goal finally came for the home side in the 76 minute when referee Martin Atkinson gave a foul to Darren Fletcher who had clearly won the ball from Ashley Cole. Frank Lampard took the free kick, the ball curled in to find John Terrywho headed it into the back of United net. With the result Chelsea is intact with a 100 per cent home record under Carlo Ancelotti this season that too conceding only one goal.
It was Chelsea’s day and they made everything out of it, Drogba tried his best but was checked by United every time so was the case with Anelka. A positive note for the visiting team who played well expect the decision that went against.

Sunday Showdown at Stamford Bridge.

The wait is finally over for the match which was long due for action at the top of the table. Premiership leaders Chelsea will host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. A match which will set the pace for future matches to come for both the teams as well as the ones which are in the top four.

The point that will be pinching Sir Alex is that in the last ten outings to Stamford bridge red devils haven’t put up a good show with loosing five times and drawing four times. But with a new players to the squad, things seems to be different for the visitors. News is that Rio Ferdinand and Park will be absent due to injury, Gary Neville is suspended. Good news for Manchester United is that Nemanja Vidic and Dimitar Berbatov are all set to return to the team for the big match. Defence can be problem for United but with Vidic back things look a bit easier.

Chelsea camp has less to worry with all major players ready for the match other than Jose Bosingwa who is out due to knee injury. Good form of Striker Drogba is also a cause of worry for any team that too after coming back from suspension for Chelsea in the midweek champions league match scoring twice against Atlético de Madrid. With bothCarlo Ancelotti and Sir Alex Ferguson praising their opponents team, it will be a contest to watch and see who is the ultimate winner. It will a difficult match and eyes will on the players who will rise to the occasion. The match is on Sunday and will be starting at 1600 Hours GMT (2130 Hours IST). Don’t miss it!!! The leaders everywhere: Chelsea FC

Chelsea FC. The club which one can say is the customized dream team in today’s world. The premiership leaders has it all, may it be Didier Drogba from Ivory Coast, Deco from Portugal or John Terry of England, the team has it all. Transformed in 2003 Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich, he has made this club amongst the most feared ones in Europe. As soon as he bought the club, he targeted the best in Europe and nearly got all, The best thing aboutChelsea was the players knew each other quickly as a result it was a big force in the coming years.

One of the most attracting about Chelsea is the jersey they wear. Simple blue with the 3 lines of Adidas is the best thing a jersey can have. When they are playing under lights then the strips of Adidas looks like they are illuminating by themselves.

For those who are Red Devils fans, it took more than 5 years to make a good Manchester United squad butChelseatook only 2-3 years. The best buy also includes former Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon who is responsible for talks to buy some of the best in the world for the very best in Europe. Frank Lampard keep pouring in goals with partner Didier Drogba while rock solid defence is due to the Captain John Terry himself.
Currently the Blues are at top of the table with a clear margin of two points and are going strong in this year’schampions leagueChelsea would have been victorious in last year’s champions league if the return leg of the semi final against Barcelona would have been judged properly by the referee. Majority of the decisions were gone against the Londoners which costed them the final spot. Still Humiliating the referee could not see a simple and in the final minutes of the game. As history is history and it should be put to rest, the time has come to prove what we are. The target is not the league but FA cupchampions LeagueCarling cup and the world club cup. We’ll have it all. And with the new manager Carlo Ancelotti , man just look out!!!

Injury time again that comes to United’s rescue.

There was plenty of action in the champions league match at Old Trafford. As expected to be a tough encounter with nothing to lose for the visiting side CSKA Moscow, the actual scene was no different with many goals scored amongst them. After coming from behind, Manchester United shared a point against a strong CSKA Moscow with the final score line of 3-3. In the other match of the group, VfL Wolfsburg won 3-0 against Besiktas JK. With the result Wolfsburg go second in the table and last year’s runners up Manchester United are on the top. The good news is that despite the draw, Manchester United are through to the next round of thechampions league.

The match started in front of electric 75000+ old Trafford who never expects less than a big win. There was no real opportunity to any of the teams with only minor attacks. In the 25 minute Old Trafford was stunned with a brilliant left footed kick from Alan Dzagoev from a very acute angle with went straight inside the goal with the goal keeperVan der Sar like one of the spectators. But just 4 minutes later Michael Owen levelled it for United with a neat pass from Nani inside the penalty area, Owen shot the ball with perfection. And again, CSKA was in front with Miloš Krasićscoring in an empty goal after he rounds Van der Sar, Tomáš Necid being the playmaker of it as he one pass took care of all the United’s defence. The match went into the half time break with the host trailing 1-2.
In the 47th minute, the lead further widened when Alan Dzagoev’s free kick from the left flank caught Vasili Berezutski who headed across the goal and into the bottom corner. As it looked like CSKA will take the honours, recovery system was activated by United with Paul Scholes scoring in the 84th minute through a close range header of Gary Neville’s free kick from the right. And Again n again n again the Red Devils scored in there time i.e. in the injury time (90+2) through Valencia’s long ranger that got very much deflected of the CSKA’s defender but who cares!!! The game ended with a 3-3 score line not before Šemberas of CSKA was dismissed with a second yellow.
With Manchester United going to the next round, the other 3 teams in the group has plenty to fight for the final seat which will drive to the next round. The next match day will be crucial for them while Manchester United can try out now strategies specially their defence which need a bit of overhauling.

Manchester United just needs one point.

It will be match day 4 and Manchester United is only a point away from qualifying for the next stage of this year’s champions league. The red devils will be against CSKA Moscow in the first of the return leg of the competition. In champions league after the teams have played each other once have to play again but at there opponent’s home ground.

According to the latest news from old Trafford, the team that played at this Saturday’s game against premiershipside Blackburn Rovers is expected to play in this fixture to signalling very little chance of Park Ji Sung and Darren Fletcher to be included in the squad. It is expected to try new strategy as this is not a must win tie.
From the rivals camp the latest is that Leonid Slutskiy is appointed PFC CSKA Head Coach after Juande Ramos and his assistant Marcos Alvares have left our club on mutual termination on Monday. This team will be fired up and they would like to give their boss a champion’s start this Wednesday’s fixture. CSKA are still seeking a first victory on English soil and have won just once in 13 away outings in the UEFA Champions League group stage – 3-1 at Paris Saint-Germain FC in December 2004. Goal keeper Akinfeev Igor will be watched closely as he is under Manchester United’s manager Sir Alex radar.
As the group is wide open for other three teams to qualify for the next round, a favourable result for the Russian side will further increase the probabilities of qualifying. The other two teams that is Besiktas Jk and Vfl Wolfsburgwill be playing is Turkey for an important encounter.

Beachball trouble deflated this time, Liverpool loosing streak ends.

After four wins in a row, Manchester United lost to Liverpool in a tough but one sided match at Anfield on Sunday. It was a match were the home side dominated without giving many chances to the visiting team. The final result was a clean sheet for Liverpool with a score line of 2-0. With this result we have a new leader after Chelsea thrashed Blackburn Rovers 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is now two points clear at the top of the table.

It was the third minute as Rooney has a good chance to open the scoring with a good pass from Dimitar Berbatov but was denied with an offside. On the other side Man United’s goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar had to stretch himself twice saving balls from Fabio Aurelio’s free-kick and Dirk Kuyt’s shot. Minutes later Dirk Kuyt has another chance when Paul Scholes lost possession to Lucas who then passes the ball to Dirk Kuyt just to shot wide of the post. The half time went goalless.

Second half again had some chilling moments for the visiting team, in the 65th minute Fernando Torres scored his ninth goal of the season when Benayoun’s pass sent him into the penalty area and from there Torres did well to fend off Rio Ferdinand and fire past Van der Sar from the corner of the six-yard box. The ball just flashed into the net giving a little to react. In the 74th minute. Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen was introduced by Sir Alex expecting him to deliver against his former club. Matter became worse for Manchester United when Liverpool substitute David Ngog scored deep into the injury time thus sealing the victory for his side and much to the joy of the home fans. Even goal keeper Reina joined the celebrations running all the way to the other end. It became worst for United when defender Vidic was sent of following his second yellow card. Mescherano was also sent off following his second yellow when he fouled Edwin Van der Sar out side the penalty box.
The match seemed to be an eye opener for Manchester United who didn’t play the way they played some of their previous matches winning is a comfortable way. They didn’t deserve to win. The fire power was lacking which needed to be reinstated as the next match against Blackburn is crucial especially when Arsenal is also catching up and Chelsea going two points clear.

Moscow jinx broken by Manchester United for English clubs.

In a thrilling match in Moscow, Manchester United won with a narrow margin of 1-0 against CSKA Moscow. And again and again as always for the Red Devils the goal was scored with just 4 minutes remaining in the stipulated 90 minutes.

The match started with not much of fireworks and it was not until the middle of the first half when the first scare came for the home side with Paul Scholes firing a long ranger gave some tough time for the CSKA Moscow’s keeper with the ball bouncing just in front of him followed by a left footed shot by Manchester United skipper Gary Neville. On the other side of the half there were no serious progressions as Manchester United’s strong defence was doing its bit on the field. Half time went goal less.
In the second half, Dimitar Berbatov was given a yellow card from diving in the CSKA’s penalty area and he has to be cautious as another yellow may make him miss a match in the champions league stage. Dzagoev for CSKA had put the ball in the United net in the 54th minute but was denied by an offside flag while his free-kick led to Sergei Ignashevich shooting just wide. At the other end CSKA Goalkeeper Akinfeev saved a brilliant diving header by Nani’s from Neville’s cross. Before scoring the winning goal Antonio Valencia had a great opportuinity to score when United players showed a geat one touch game just for the shot hitting the crossbar. Just when the game was going into the final 5 minutes or going into Manchester United’s time Nani chipped the ball to Berbatov in CSKA’s penalty area who headed it to Valencia who scored with a neat right kick from a very acute angle giving no chance to the keeper. The scored remained as it is the final whistle which makes United take a giant step into the next round. Without the services of Rooney, Giggs, Evra Manchester United had put up great show and not to forget Nani’s appreciating role on the left wing.
In the other match of the same group, VfL Wolfsburg and Besiktas JK shared a point each with a goal less draw in Germany making the group wide open for the rest of the 3 teams to qualify along with United who is certain to go into the next round.
